Welcome from
the Dean's Office of Information Technology
and Technology in Medical Education (TIME)

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Drexel University College of Medicine and to let you know about our medical student technology requirement. Information technology plays a significant role in the lives and careers of physicians and one of our goals is to help you navigate the systems and increase your technology competence while here at DrexelMed.

Our information technology group is a division of the Dean's Office of Educational Affairs and we are referred to as TIME (Technology In Medical Edcation). Our physical office is located at Queen Lane on the 2nd floor of the K Wing - Suite 201, the same building as the Medical Simulation Center. We work on technology projects for the College of Medicine, which include the curriculum websites, educational websites, databases, streaming lecture videos, and mobile software apps. If you have specific questions or encounter problems with websites or technology at Queen Lane, please contact us. Email time@drexel.edu and always provide as much detail as possible so we can assist you.

In addition, the University has a main IT department called Drexel University Information Technology.

Drexel University Information Technology serves all colleges and schools at Drexel and is responsible for systems such as your student email and domain account, the wireless network you will use, the DrexelOne portal, Drexel Learn Blackboard and software downloads to name just a few things. Many of these resources are linked from this technology survival guide. IT also manages the computer center at Queen Lane which is equipped with approximately 20 desktop computers (located on the Ground Floor below the library).

Our TIME group works closely with Drexel University Information Technology to make the technology used in education at DrexelMed work seamlessly for you.  If you have any technical questions or ever experience any problems, please contact us.

Once again, welcome!
